    Hello WASC!
My name is Dawson Kopf and I have the privilege to be the WASC State JAM President. I go to school at Evansville J.C. McKenna Middle School. At school I am involved in Choir, Band, Jazz Band, Blue Notes(audition choir), FPS(future problem solvers), student council, and drama. Outside of school I play club soccer. I have been a part of the WASC a lot of my life because of my mom and my brother Dylan. The WASC has taught me to go outside my comfort zone and the WASC has also helped me get better at being a good leader. I have met some of best friends from the WASC and Leadership Camp. I can not tell you how much the WASC has made me a better leader and a person. My school is hosting State Conference this year so I can't wait to see you guys there.

    Sincerely, Dawson.

Hi there, I'm Peyton Hansen, I have had the great privilege of being the Region 6 JAM President. I have had so much fun learning about being a good leader. And not to mention the friendships I have made. WASC has inspired me to become more involved with our announcement committee at my school. Outside of WASC & Student Council I am a very artistic person. A few of my passions are singing, acting and crocheting. This past year was super enjoyable, and I know this year will be even better.

Howdy, my name is Jacob Carignan and I am currently a Senior at Baraboo High School as well as the Region VI SHS President. This is my first year serving on the WASC, and let me say, I wish that I would have joined earlier. One of my friends inspired me to run back in 2019 and I am more than glad that I did. Having the privilege to serve the next generation of leaders for this state and country is an amazing feeling. I know a lot of leaders can occasionally forget who they are representing, but it's crucial to take a look at all of the people you are leading and serving and remember that you are changing lives - that is amazing. Besides serving on the WASC governing board, I love to golf and am also a professional magician. Making pars and making cars appear are both things that I really have a passion for. I'd like to thank everyone involved with the WASC for this opportunity to strengthen me as a leader, and to all of you young leaders out there, run for a Region or State position in the WASC, it may seem scary, but it is truly more than worth it. Happy New Year & lead on!

    Sincerely,

    Jacob Carignan

    WASC Region VI SHS President

    Seasons Greetings!

My name is Collin Woldt, and I am the WASC SHS State President. Since it is the holiday season, I would like to write a little bit about what makes this time of year special. In addition to spending time with loved ones and listening to your favorite holiday tunes on the radio, the holiday season is one of giving, and helping those who are less fortunate. I am always inspired to see so many people sacrificing their time, money, and talents over the holidays to improve the communities they live in. As State President, I have the privilege to see how many different student councils around the state have embraced the giving spirit. At my own school, Muskego High School, our Student Council holds an annual food drive in which all the canned food is donated to the local food pantry. We also “adopt” families during the holiday season, and commit to buying the children presents that the family would otherwise not be able to afford. It is small actions like these that make a world of difference to children, to families, and to our communities. It is my hope that every member of the WASC will encourage their student councils to fully embrace the holiday season. While the weather outside may be cold, there is no other feeling quite as warm as helping others make their days merry and bright. From our entire WASC family to yours, we hope you have a truly joyful holiday season.

    Best,

    Collin Woldt
    WASC SHS State President

    Hey Wisconsin Leaders!

My name is Amanda Jerry and I am a senior at Bay Port High School. I am beyond ecstatic to have been given this opportunity to represent the student leaders of Wisconsin.

I have attended WASC programs and served on the Governing Board for almost 5 years now! My favorite program this far has been our Project Delta Summer Leadership Camp. I greatly value how the WASC is able to empower authentic student voice and allow students to collaborate from across the state. The WASC has personally equipped me with the skills and relationships to gain a competitive edge through many amazing opportunities.

In school, my academics are very important to me as an International Baccalaureate (IB) Full Diploma student. I am also a student representative on student safety committees in my school district, as well as in National Honors Society, Youth Service Volunteer Leadership, and Model UN.

The Governing Board has put a lot of effort and planning into our revamped programs this year. These updates aim to appeal to the requests of YOU, our members! I invite you to be excited for the changes to be implemented this year, especially at the 2020 State Conference at UW Madison, and encourage you to give us feedback!

I am very eager to see how the magic of the WASC will foster a change and empower something in you, just as it has for me!

    Best Regards,

    Amanda Jerry
    WASC SHS State VP

Hello, My name is Maria Kildahl, I am your region 2 JAM President. I am a Freshman at PJ Jacobs in Stevens Point. I enjoy dancing, spending time with friends, and working with my school student council on various activities. I started in student council in 6th grade. In 7th grade I was introduced to WASC and instantly fell in love with becoming a better leader and striving to help others lead in the best way possible. I have learned so much about how to be a leader and how to lead by example through my WASC journey so far. I have met so many amazing people through WASC that have taught me wonderful life lessons. I thank each and every one of them for teaching me lessons I would not have learned if I wouldn’t have met them. I am looking forward to continuing my journey through WASC and learning so many more lessons. Region 2 is getting ready to host our Leadership Tour in the Dells on November 25th. We will meet up with Region 5 and Region 6 to have a fun day working on our leadership. I hope everyone who comes will enjoy it as much as I will. I can't wait to see what everyone accomplishes this year and what leadership lessons I will learn next. Thank you to everyone that has taught me something about being a leader in my life. I hope I can help some of you learn how to become a better leader too.

    Sincerely,
    Maria Kildahl
    WASC Region II JAM President
