Ready to be a VIP at WASC? Step into the spotlight and lead an breakout session on Monday, April 20th! Sessions should be interactive, engaging, and connect to at least one WASC Leadership Standard.

NOTE: Swap Shop-style sessions are no longer eligible. If you want to share about a project at your school (instead of teaching others how to do it), consider entering one of our many competitions like Best Project, Scrapbook, or Creative Marketing to share your ideas!

Chaperones

  • A 1:15 adult to student ratio is required for all students registered per school.

Advisor/Adult Expectations & Responsibilities

    • Be visible and accessible throughout all conference programming.
    • Support breakout selection by encouraging students to attend different sessions rather than moving as one group.
    • Model appropriate phone use, with phones put away during presentations and programming except in emergencies.
    • Help ensure students remain in approved conference spaces during programming.
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for students from your school.

Student Expectations & Responsibilities

    • Wear your name badge at all times on the upper chest area of your shirt.
    • Be fully engaged in all sessions; cell phones and personal devices must be put away during programming unless permitted or needed for an emergency.
    • Demonstrate leadership by listening attentively, supporting others’ participation, and helping create a positive, inclusive conference environment.
    • Student dress and grooming should be safe, appropriate, and not distract from learning or participation at the event.
    • Staying in hotel rooms is prohibited during conference programming, except during designated times. Students must always have a buddy.
